Families In Training

The Families In Training Program is a HUD funded, educationally driven self-sufficiency program that was created by Panhandle Community Services in the 1980′s.

The program is administered by our organization and has received numerious awards for supporting self-sufficiency in the State of Texas over the years.

Thousands of families have transitioned out-of-poverty since its inception. The program provides rental assistance, motivation, responsibility loans, career counseling, and resource development that leads to completion of post secondary training.

To be eligible, the household must meet the HUD income guidelines, consist of one or two parents, and at least one parent must be enrolled in post secondary training that can be completed in a two to four year time period. There must be at least one child living in the home.
